The Jazz Station

The Grapefruits

Margarite Waddell, french horn, and Coco Bender, piano, make up the contemporary and classical duo The Grapefruits. They perform frequently throughout the PNW with the goal of presenting traditional classical french horn repertoire, new 20th-century works, and commissioned works by PNW composers. Currently, The Grapefruits are performing works by Kenneth Amis, Tara Islas, Eugene composer Paul Safar, William Grant Still, and others.

The WOW Hall

The historic WOW Hall has been a cornerstone of the Eugene community since it opened its doors in 1932. By hosting a myriad of local gatherings and performing arts, the Hall provides cultural arts and educational opportunities for all ages and income levels and maintains a supportive environment for local artists. The Community Center for the Performing Arts involves thousands of volunteers, more than half of them teenagers, and is committed to providing arts for all ages.

UO School of Music and Dance

Offering a wide variety of degree programs in dance, music performance, music education, composition, theory, musicology, opera, jazz studies, conducting, music technology, and more, the University of Oregon is known for having the only comprehensive school of music and dance in the state. We present approximately 300 concerts, performances, and events during the academic year, ranging from contemporary dance to African dance, early music and classical to contemporary music, world music, and jazz.

Oregon Bach Festival

Oregon Bach Festival has presented the masterworks of J.S. Bach, and composers inspired by his work, to audiences in Eugene and throughout the State of Oregon for more than five decades. In addition to traditional choral-orchestral masterworks, the Festival also presents internationally renowned guest artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Midori, Pink Martini and Joshua Bell, and offers educational opportunities, children and family programming, and community events.

Kutsinhira Cultural Arts Center

Kutsinhira is a community of people, responding to the rich musical tradition of the people of Zimbabwe, who created a center for teaching and performing Zimbabwean music. Kutsinhira offers classes in Zimbabwean marimba and mbira and organizes lessons, workshops and performances with visiting Zimbabwean master musicians. Oregon Mozart Players

Oregon’s professional chamber orchestra, Oregon Mozart Players (OMP), offers intimate world-class chamber orchestra performances, innovative Pint Size Performances partnering with breweries and wineries, and unique recital presentations. OMP also offers free community engagement, education, and youth programming, as well as the composer led and curated OMP Sound Investment program.

Paul Safar

Paul Safar is a versatile composer/performer and private piano instructor living and working in Eugene. Commissioning ensembles include the Delgani String Quartet. His music has been performed in cities from New York and Seattle to Havana and Fairbanks. Having a background in both classical and jazz/rock, one of Paul’s goals is to coherently combine these influences in his compositions. He is available for commissions to produce new compositions and collaborations as well as for hire as a pianist.
