Heather Rose LeCompte is an award-winning mixed-media abstract artist, illustrator, folk artist, and expressive arts workshop facilitator. As an artist, she specializes in creating visually stunning work that tells stories of compassion, courage, creativity, and connectedness. Heather is also a long-time expressive arts workshop facilitator, offering nourishingly creative workshops for private individuals and community groups. My compositions emphasize endangered species, ecosystem relationships, and cultural reflection to encourage action to protect the world we love. I paint dynamic landscapes which attract the public to get close and discover details, while also experiencing a sense of connection to the action depicted, a signature style of my painting. I have dedicated myself to community engagement, mentoring youth and collaborating with emerging artists using a community-based process of making public murals locally and internationally since 2005.
